MONDOTURF CARPETS

Mondoturf carpets are produced by weaving the Mondoturf NSF fibres onto a multilayer backing to which the fibres are then attached.

The Mondo Research Centre has developed specific techniques to improve the way in which the fibres are attached, enhancing their resistance to tearing and helping to resolve the problem of fibre loss.

MONDOTURF CARPETS WITH TRADITIONAL BACKING AND POLYURETHANE COATING

The fibres are traditionally fixed with a latex-based coating.
However, there have been many problems with the distribution and evenness of this product, which lead to loss of fibres.

To resolve this problem, MONDO has developed a special fixing process which involves the use of polyurethane coating

THE ADVANTAGES OF POLYURETHANE

  • Improved resistance to tearing
The polyurethane is distributed evenly among the fibres, which thus have better adhesion to the backing.

  • The carpet lasts longer
Compared to latex, polyurethane does not crumble or degrade. Aging tests have demonstrated that even under extreme weather conditions, polyurethane will help the scarpet to last longer.
