In 1980, Mondo's research laboratory began collaborating with the world's top biomechanical research laboratories to develop its next generation track system. Among those laboratories are:

In 2007, a new research conducted by Mondo's engineer team with researchers from Pavia University led to a completely innovative approach to engineer the latest Track & Field surface with a new texture and a high-performance hexagonal backing layer.
