FIVB TSUNAMI AID PROJECT – THAILAND
FIRST 5 SCHOOLS BY MONDO COMPLETEDFirst buildings ready in Thailand provinces hit by the 2004 tsunami
The first five schools realized by Mondo will be officially inaugurated on July 17th, but local communities had the possibilities to start using them in the last weeks.
According to FIVB Tsunami aid project, schools were built in the affected provinces of Krabi: Ao-Nang, Phuket, Ranong, Satun and Trang.
As contractor of the projects, Mondo designed and built five schools of around 1500 sq. m, fully equipped with furnished classrooms facilities, offices, warehouses and toilets. Each school was equipped with a Mondoturf outdoor volleyball court, respecting FIVB guidelines. The high quality of the field also means that it could be used as training facility for teams outside school hours.
Further to the five schools in Thailand, FIVB project includes eight schools in Indonesia, four in Sri Lanka and one in the Maldives.
