At last evening’s the IAAF World Challenge meeting in Rieti, Kenyan David Rudisha, reduced the World 800m record to 1:41.01.
Rudisha went through 600 metres in the lead in 1:14.56 and continued to push the pace with his smooth stride. His run in the final straight was a triumphal race against the clock.

The Daf Chemi Service Montesilvano conquest its first shield imposing to Marca Futsal from Venezia the first defeat of the year.

For Montesilvano is the second title, after winning the Italian Championship in 2007. The society of the president Antonio Iervolino, has been rewarded with this shocking success after years of serious engagement and hard work.

Contest match 1 it has been carried out to Montesilvano in province of Pescara and has been played on a new Zetasystem wooden flooring installed from our company during the intense activities of renovation of the Palaroma sport hall; the rearrangement took place last year, for the Mediterranean Games.
The Montesilvano team has always played on Mondo flooring: before the intense activities of renovation of the Palaroma, the team used to train and play its matches on Mondoflex.

An agreement between LOCOG - the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games 2012 - and Mondo S.p.A. was signed, making the Italian firm the “Official Supplier for Sport Flooring and Equipment” for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Mondo will be the Official Provider both of the surface and of all equipment of the event that will take place in Paris, from 7th to 9th May

In the elegant setting of the Triennale at the Milan Furniture Fair, MONDO presents “DECOLORFUL”, a 200 mq installation which has been designed along with the materials by Aldo Cibic in collaboration with Tommaso Corà and has been entirely created using products from the new Mondo Idea collection.

DECOLORFUL is a true artistic interpretation by one of the most important designers in Italy who playing with the endless graphical and chromatic variations that Mondo Idea, the new made in MONDO rubber flooring, creates an installation made unique by the different perceptive images it offers to its visitors.

“We wanted to create a landscape with a strong symbolic content based on the contrast between volumes and colour, which are perceived differently at different times of the day as the light changes - commented Aldo Cibic. The installation evokes a metaphysical landscape because the five volumes placed in the area with their different proportions create a suspended effect: the tunnel, the chimney, the tank, the cylinder and the column create a warm sensorial experience. We wanted to work on a real De Chirico landscape on a near true-to-life scale and see how the application of motifs could change our perception of the whole scene.”
 

Mondo will represent Italy at FIBA World Championships, in August in Turkey. The company will provide both playing surfaces and equipment and electronic scoreboards, further to seating and tribunes for more than 15,000 supporters.

The event will take place on the new Fast Break System 2 Wood, the innovative wooden slabs flooring system specifically design for top level competitions.
Baskets will be scored in Mondo Athens backborad units and the video screen system Pegasus will show the score to the audience.

With this important supply, MONDO confirms its presence on International basketball fields, as during the last Eurolaugue edition and Beijing 2008 Olympics.
 

Mondo, the company from Gallo d’Alba, Italy, has been selected as Official Supplier of the main and warm up tracks and the equipment for the upcoming IAAF World Indoor Championships which will be held in Doha, Qatar from 12 to 14 March.

The Russian National Championships ended with a new world record at 4x800 m: Moscow team composed of Tatyana Andrianova, Oksana Spasovkhodskaya, Yelena Kofanova, Yevgeniya Zinurova clocked 8:12.41 to establish the first world indoor record of 2010 considering IAAF events.

The final matches of the European Futsal Championships will take place on 30rd January in Debrecen, Hungary.

Both the Papp Laslo Sportarena in Budapestand the Fonix Arena in Debrecen have been equipe with Mondo Futsal System, specifically designed in cooperation with UEFA, the first Federation to pioneer the use of a black pitch in an indoor major continental event.

Monte-Carlo – During the celebrations of the World Athletics Gala hosted by International Athletic Foundation (IAF) Honorary President HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco and IAF & IAAF President Lamine Diack in the Salle des Etoiles of the Sporting Club d’Eté, 23-year-old Jamaican Usain Bolt and USA’s 24-year-old Sanya Richards were crowned as the Male and Female World Athletes of the Year 2009.

The Circuito Permanente de Jerez, worldwide famous racing circuit, located in the city of Jerez de la Frontera, has been equipped with Mondo Landscape Grass.
The Circuit, that hosts both Formula One and Moto GP events, was renewed in May, substituting the natural grass of the escape areas near the curves with Mondoturf Landscape Grass.
