Today, Mondo S.p.A. is the undisputed world leader in the sports rubber flooring sector.
Confirmation of the same is provided by the fact that the company has been the Official Supplier of athletics tracks for the Olympics during the last 8 consecutive editions: Montreal ’76, Moscow ’80, Los Angeles ’84, Seoul ’88, Barcelona ’92, Atlanta ’96, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004.
Today the company is preparing for the ninth edition of the Olympic Games, to be held in Beijing, in 2008. |

During the last edition of the Olympic Games, Mondo, in addition to realising the Osaka Olympic Stadium in Athens, was also the technical supplier for the volleyball courts in the Peace and Friendship Stadium. Mondo has also supplied sports equipment for the Helliniko Olympic Complex and for the Athens Olympic Sports Complex, dedicated to basketball. In the Panathinaiko Stadium, dedicated to archery, the entire floor used was the Mondoturf system. |

For the very first time, the Olympic flame will reach Beijing (held aloft by Yao Ming, the most popular Chinese athlete, basketball champion and famous round the world) for the XXIX edition of the Olympic Games. On the 8th of August 2008 the opening ceremony will be held for an edition involving an expenditure budget of 37 billion dollars. Mondo, with the opening of its production site at Beijing, is preparing for this new challenge, supplying sports equipment and surfaces for new breath-taking Olympic records. |

Mondo of course had to be present at the historic appointment in Torino in 2006, along with the most important names in international design and architecture creating the magnificent facilities which have so transformed the face of the city.
Mondo has installed sports equipment and surfaces in the most important Olympic sites: Olympic Stadium, Palasport Olympic, Palavela, Ice Palace in Corso Tazzoli and Torre Pellice, Olympic Arch and the Underground. |
