Mondo, via its British partner DYNAMIK who are also an Official Provider of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, has supplied the Scotstoun Stadium with its new Sportflex Super X 720™ athletics track.
No less than 59 medal events will take place over six days of competition on the upgraded athletics track.
Phase one of the installation – the old athletics track, also supplied by Mondo, being removed and the new 400m track with a striking blue colour scheme installed – was completed last summer while phase two, which saw lines and other graphics being painted on the track and some additional work on the in-field areas, took place in April.

The upgrade to the Scotstoun Stadium athletics track will not only benefit the athletes competing at Glasgow 2026 but it will also be gifted to the city after the Games come to an end, leaving a legacy for the community-at-large at this important athletics facility operated by Glasgow Life.

Mondo athletics tracks have been used at in the main stadium at five of the last seven Commonwealth Games.
The company is the world’s predominant supplier of athletics tracks to stadia where major athletics meetings and championships are being held.
This summer eight of the 15 Diamond League meetings will be staged on Mondo athletics tracks.
In addition to the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, the main athletics stadium at this summer’s Central American and Caribbean Games in Dominican Republic will feature a Sportflex Super X 720 athletics track.
The athletics events at the 2026 Mediterranean Games in Taranto’s Stadio di Atletica Leggera Giuseppe Valente in Italy, between 30 August-3 September will also be held on a Mondo athletics track.
The World Athletics Ultimate Championships between 11-13 September, held in the same venue as the World Athletics Championships Budapest 23, will bring the athletics season to a climax between 11-13 September. Three years ago, the Mondo athletics track in the Zsivotzky Gyula National Athletics Center helped produce one world record, seven championships records and 11 areas records and there are high hopes of another deluge of superlatives at this innovative addition to the calendar.
