The Catalan club Atlétic Terrassa Hockey Club, three-time European hockey champion, has renovated its arena with a Mondo rubber floor that offers excellent sports performance, shock absorption of over 25% and great resistance for demanding sports such as indoor hockey.
To admire the trophy cabinet of Atlétic Terrassa Hockey Club (ATHC), just turn your gaze in any direction inside their arena: three European hockey championships (two on the field and one indoors), two European Cups, 22 national championships, 16 King's Cups, 15 Spanish championships... And all these awards in hockey alone, since this Catalan club, with more than 70 years of history, also has sections for tennis, padel, basketball, swimming and other sports.
The ATHC facilities are located in the Parc Esportiu de Can Salas, located northeast of Terrassa and built in 1969. With over 80,000 square meters, the complex includes fields, playing areas and a sports hall where Mondo has installed the Powerplay P1 sports flooring. This 8-millimeter thick system, which integrates a rubber surface and the Everlay shock-absorbing membrane, is known for its excellent performance in multiple sports, its ability to absorb shocks of over 25% and its resistance, making it an ideal solution for demanding disciplines such as indoor hockey.
The Powerplay P1 system by Mondo, installed in the ATHC arena - with a wood-colored playing area and anthracite gray perimeter, with the Atlétic Terrassa Hockey Club crest in the center - combines a 3 mm thick Powerplay rubber surface with the 4.7 mm Everlay Protection shock-absorbing membrane. The rubber offers excellent performance and resistance to intensive use, while the underbase gives the system waterproof, shock-absorbing and anti-slip properties.
Safety for athletes is another distinctive aspect of the Powerplay P1 sports flooring: this system is characterized by a shock absorption level of over 25% (P1 according to the UNE-EN 14904 standard "Surfaces for sports areas. Specifications for indoor multisport floors"). Furthermore, it is free of pollutants and has Greenguard Gold certification for its very low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOC). During its production, 25% of the organic polymers come from biomass and complies with the REACH regulation.
This flooring also meets the requirements of the UNE-EN 14904:2007 standard established by the Superior Council of Sports for the practice of indoor hockey and for the competitions of the Spanish Hockey Federation (RFEH). The excellence of the Powerplay P1 system is also certified by the rigorous quality programs of other international sports, such as FIBA, FIFA for futsal and the International Handball Federation (IHF).
ATHC Arena has also updated some Mondo equipment for sports other than indoor hockey. The facility now features a new Aries scoreboard and a foldable Mondosingle ceiling hoop system. This hoop model offers more versatility, space and ease of setup than floor hoops. The new ceiling hoops are easily controlled by a Mondo control panel, which allows them to be raised and lowered independently to the desired height with two simple selectors.
