Unite Technology for Football and Rugby Pitches: 100% Closed-Loop Recyclability

One of the most distinctive features of synthetic turf surfaces for soccer and five-a-side football with UNITE technology is their complete recyclability.

The surface is composed exclusively of polyethylene (PE) and polyester (PET), two compatible materials that can be efficiently separated thanks to the heat-sealed backing (without the use of PU or latex coatings).

• The polyethylene can be remelted and reused to produce new yarn.
• The polyester is refined and extruded to create a new backing.

All this occurs within a close-loop process, already the subject of tests conducted in collaboration with ITA (Istituto tecnico Aragon) for chemical separation and Aimplas for material regeneration.

Synthetic turf surfaces with UNITE technology are systems consistent with the principles of the circular economy, in line with current European directives.
