Technology and sustainability: Mondo at the heart of the european AMBIANCE project

In May, Mondo had the opportunity to host a key phase of the European AMBIANCE project, an initiative designed to guide the manufacturing sector through its digital and sustainable transformation. Following the technical meeting held at the Instituto Tecnológico de Aragón (ITA) in Zaragoza, the project partners visited the MondoTufting plant in Borja. There, we presented the progress of our industrial use case, developed as part of the AMBIANCE program. During the visit, we showcased three core areas of innovation:

• The digitalization of the extrusion process;
• The implementation of digital twins for real-time simulation and optimization;
• Initial trials with Bio PE, a bio-based polyethylene derived from renewable sources.

This is a tangible example of how technological innovation and a focus on sustainability can go hand in hand—helping to shape a production model that is more efficient, responsible, and future-oriented.
