The world's best padel knows no bounds: Premier Padel returns with Mondo's official turf

  • Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour 2026 includes 26 tournaments in 18 countries and already uses the new 'Star Point' scoring system.
  • Competitions began on February 9th with the Riyadh Season P1, played on the circuit's official synthetic turf, Mondo's Premier Supercourt X3 system.
  • Spain will host six stages of the circuit, including, again this year, the Barcelona Finals in December.

Premier Padel, the world's leading professional padel circuit, is back, and it's doing so again with Mondo as the "Official Turf" and official padel court supplier. Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour 2026 officially kicked off this week with the Riyadh Season P1 (Saudi Arabia), played on Mondo's Premier Supercourt X3 synthetic padel turf. This surface offers optimal sporting performance, maximum comfort and safety for players, and a spectacular aesthetic.

While this year's world padel stars compete on one of the most promising circuits ever, Mondo will not stand idly by and will remain true to its motto (Push Beyond Limits) to ensure that the best padel in the world—the breathtaking one—is played on top-quality synthetic padel turf.

The stars of the sport are already competing this week on Mondo padel courts at the Padel Rush Arena in the Saudi capital, where the Riyadh Season P1 is being played. All courts are equipped with Premier Supercourt X3 synthetic padel grass, which offers players a complete sense of security and confidence while reducing the risk of injury.

The high level of grip of this playing surface—designed specifically for padel—significantly improves impact absorption, stability, traction, and balance during play. All its fibers are textured, meaning they better retain the sand on the court, preventing it from spreading unevenly or accumulating during play.

Premier Padel Calendar 2026

2026 Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour calendar features an ambitious season, with 26 tournaments in 18 countries and a strong presence of indoor competitions, which represent approximately 75% of the circuit's events. Among the main new features are the addition of London (UK), Pretoria (South Africa), and Valencia (Spain) as new venues.

After the qualifying rounds represented by the Generali Hexagon Cup played in Madrid on Mondo synthetic turf  surface at the end of January, the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour 2026 will kick off on February 9th with the Riyadh Season P1 and conclude with the Premier Padel Finals in Barcelona (December 7th to 13th), where the season champions will be crowned.

Spain remains a key player on this year's circuit, hosting six events. Both professional stars of the sport and fans in our country will be able to enjoy the spectacle of Mondo's Premier Supercourt X3 synthetic turf padel tournaments in:

  • Gijón (P2, March 2-8);
  • Valencia (P1, June 8-14);
  • Málaga (P1, July 13-19);
  • Madrid (P1, August 31-September 6);
  • Barcelona (Finals, December 7-13).

With these events, Spain strengthens and consolidates its role as one of the most important countries for padel in the world.

How 'Star Point' Works, the New Scoring System

The 2026 season will also mark the arrival of the new 'Star Point' scoring system, unanimously approved by the General Assembly of the International Padel Federation (FIP)—comprising 100 national federations—last November. This scoring system has already been included in the new revision of the Padel Rules.

What does it consist of?

The 'Star Point' system maintains the classic padel scoring system (0, 15, 30, 40) up to 40-40 (deuce), but from there introduces a limited number of advantages. When the score reaches a tie, the traditional advantage is applied up to two times:

  • If a pair wins a point after deuce, they gain the advantage;
  • If the other pair wins, the game returns to a tie.

If the game remains tied after two advantages, the 'Star Point' is reached, a deciding point that immediately ends the game. At that special point, the team that must respond chooses its side of the court, and the winner of the point wins the game.

This format is designed to avoid excessively long games, protecting the players' physical wear and tear and improving the pace for television broadcasts. On the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour 2026, this system will be applied from the first event, the Riyadh Season P1.
