In just 100 days, the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina, will be alive with the first-ever street-party style opening ceremony that will mark the start of the Youth Olympic Games 2018 (YOG), which will take place from 6 to 18 October this year.
To help count down the days to the YOG and spread the word nationwide, throughout August and September a Torch Tour will travel the length and breadth of Argentina, before arriving in the capital to light up the city on 6 October, while the best young athletes around the world continue to vie and qualify for one of the 4,000 places − which, for the first time in Olympic history will be equally split between men and women.
Have a look at the list of medal events at the Youth Olympic Games Buenos Aires 2018 here: four new sports will be making their debut on the Olympic stage: sport climbing, dance sport, karate and roller sports. They will join the 28 other sports that featured at the previous edition of the YOG in Nanjing in 2014. The inclusion of these new sports on the YOG programme, not to mention the appearance of new events and competition formats such as BMX freestyle, kiteboarding, futsal and beach handball, serves to highlight the role of the YOG as an event where the innovations of the Olympic Movement can be put to the test.
MONDO for the event will be supplying 2 Futsal pitches with its new flooring system MONDO FUTSAL FAST CLAW, 2 Break Dance floors and 2 athletic tracks: one installed at the Main stadium and the Warm up track; all the athletics equipment will be also supplied by MONDO
