Milan Design Week: Mondo protagonist at Fuori Salone 2025

On the occasion of the prestigious Milan Design Week 2025, Mondo participates as a partner company in the workshop "Sport & Design: innovation in sports surfaces", an event included in the Bravery Bar 2025 format, organized by the higher education schools of the AD Education group (IAAD., Accademia Italiana and SAE Institute). The appointment is scheduled for Tuesday 8 April 2025, in the spaces of the Basic Village in Zona Farini in Milan (Via dell’Aprica 12).

The workshop will offer a moment of comparison between the emerging creativity of young designers and the consolidated experience of Mondo, a leading company in the sports flooring and equipment sector.

The theme of the workshop

During the workshop, the students selected by the schools of the AD Education circuit will be invited to explore the future of modular sports surfaces, focusing on the Tilesport system. The main objective will be to conceive and design innovative modular kits, transportable and adaptable to different sports disciplines, conceived for temporary events and for the redevelopment of urban and unconventional spaces.

The students, guided by expert teachers and stimulated by Mondo specialists, will have the task of designing practical, functional and aesthetically appealing modular kits. Particular attention will be paid to the graphic customization of the surfaces, using the 10 color variants available for Tilesport, in addition to the possibility of dedicated digital prints.

The day: a journey of innovation and creativity

The program for the day of April 8 will be as follows:

  • 09:30 – 10:00: Welcome coffee
  • 10:00 – 10:45: Motivational speech by Andrea De Beni, paralympic athlete, basketball player
  • 10:45 – 11:15: Official launch of the project brief with the Mondo team
  • 11:15 – 17:30: Collaborative design session
  • 17:30 – 18:30: Final presentations of the projects and final discussion with the Mondo experts

The AD Education group will supervise the project:

  • Christian Ludovici, Product designer and Coordinator of the 1st level Academic Diploma Course in Design at the Accademia Italiana in Rome
  • Gianluca Bocchetta, Owner & Art Director of Velvet Studio

The workshop represents a unique opportunity for experimentation for young creative talents who will have the opportunity to confront real challenges, developing concrete and innovative projects. The best projects, selected for their originality, functionality and aesthetics, will be promoted on the official Mondo channels, underlining the company's ongoing commitment to supporting creativity, innovation and training of new professionals in the sector.
