Millions of athletes of all ages and levels of expertise use Mondo multi-sport surfaces, every day.
Ensuring a safe practice for all flooring and sport types, is Mondo’s priority and responsibility, addressed in a serious and dedicated manner, and supported by research and continuous improvement.
Mondo multi-sport surfaces are developed to meet the main safety regulations (EN 14904 in Europe) and technical requirements of International Federations.
With our R&D projects, in partnership with Technical Organizations, Biomechanics and Sports Institutes, we can create flooring that meets the requirements of the high league sector and of growing athletes alike.
Better cushioning and optimal grip are a great help when performing spectacular actions, and also in ensuring the safety of all athletes, no matter how young or old.
Guaranteed features include:
Shock absorption
In sports such as volleyball, basketball, handball and gymnastics, having uniform cushioning during jumps, landings and movements is crucial to prevent injuries and stress on joints, tendons and muscles.
The Everlay® substrates have been developed to ensure an optimal shock absorption, combined with either a multi-sport rubber flooring (Powerplay range) or PVC flooring (Vinylsport M). With the wide thickness options available, they provide different absorption values and are compliant with P1 or P2 or P3 categories (top level competition), according to EN 14904.
Elasticity and energy return
To ensure full control over a sporting action, multi-sport flooring should provide a dynamic and uniform response over the entire surface.
Mondo multi-sport wooden and combined surfaces achieve this result thanks to the Air Cell® Pads technology, providing dynamic support and improved comfort, and preventing overload injuries.
Surface
Changes in direction, braking, pivoting: without optimal grip, the risk of dangerous slips, sprains or trauma caused by foot blockage is always very high. The surface finish on any of our multi-sport rubber or PVC flooring options is designed to offer an ideal friction coefficient for safety and sporting actions.
Reaction to fire
Fire performance matters. The Powerplay™ sports flooring has obtained the Euroclass Bfl-s1 certification, even when combined with elastic substrates or sub-bases, by passing the tests required by Standard EN 13501-1, which place it in the highest safety class. –NON TRADURRE NOTA: sara inserisci immagini ppl p1, ppl II elatsiflex, PPL combi.
When it comes to indoor sports environments, such as sports arenas, multi-sport gyms or multi-purpose halls, air quality plays a central role, together with hygiene, and helps to keep the venues safe and healthy for sports practice.
This is even truer for indoor school multi-sport surfaces, since children are very sensitive to pollution.
Mondo's commitment in this sense is crystal clear. Our surfaces are Greenguard Gold certified - among the most stringent standards in terms of air pollutants - and are subjected to rigorous testing on over 15,000 VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds).
Hygiene-wise, the natural antibacterial characteristics of vulcanized rubber undoubtedly are an advantage for multi-sport surfaces. Testing carried out according to Standard ISO 22196 confirmed a bacterial reduction of over 99.999% in 24 hours.
Non-porous flooring prevents sweat, liquid and dirt absorption, hindering the proliferation of bacteria without the need for biocidal additives.
We recently took a further step forward, by introducing our PRO² Technology: this special protective treatment increases surface durability and visual comfort, thanks to its anti-reflective effect, and makes sanitisation even more effective and easy to perform.
