Douglas led the North Kansas City Hornets to a 10-2 record, leading to their best finish since 1957.
The award is the result of the High School Coach of the Week Fueled by Gatorade program, a joint initiative of the Kansas City Chiefs and the National Football League. It’s designed to recognize and reward Kansas City-area high-school coaches for superior performance on a weekly basis while honoring individuals who are shaping today’s youth and tomorrow’s leaders.
A $65 million renovation is also underway at the high school, which is almost 95 years old and has built a rich history since it was established in 1925. According to its website, NKCHS’ famous football stadium was constructed in 1941 as one of the final Works Progress Administration projects ending the Great Depression in the 1930s.
We are proud to be a part of North Kansas City’s ongoing renovation. We have recently completed work on the Hornet’s weight room, which features Sport Impact flooring. Sport Impact provides the best surface for strength-training exercises, capable of absorbing even the heaviest impact and offering incomparable safety and comfort.
With its extra-thick 3-millimeter wear layer, Sport Impact resists traction, lacerations, and heavy loads. Ideal for even the most intense sports activities, it ensures athletes have excellent stability due to the embossed non-porous surface, while the underlayer guarantees uniform shock absorption and dimensional stability.
