Mizzou Banks on Mondo for Indoor Track

Once again, an NCAA Division I university is banking on Mondo for its indoor track! This time, it’s the University of Missouri, which follows on the heels of K-State and Eastern Michigan University also choosing Mondo tracks in their indoor facilities. Mizzou’s new 200-meter, six-lane oval banked track with a 12-degree bank and a 21-meter radius will feature Mondo’s Super X 720 surface. An eight-lane sprint straightaway, a pole vault runway, two long jump/triple jump runways, throw areas, and non-competition areas around the track also will sport the Super X 720 surface. The six-lane oval and eight-lane straightaway will boast alternating lane colors of gray and a custom gold Mondo created for the university. Brett Halter, Mizzou’s head track and field coach, speaks highly of Mondo’s track legacy. “Mondo is the industry’s gold standard for indoor tracks,” he said. “It’s best-in-class and the fastest track in the world. I don’t believe anything can top it.” The Tigers coach also lauded how Mondo tracks enable athletes to perform their best across all events. “Mondo tracks provide the optimal amount of energy return, which enhances the performance in every event group,” he said. “When you’re competing on a Mondo track, you know you’re going to have national-leading times.” In addition, Halter expressed confidence that the Mondo track will appeal to prospective student-athletes and help with their recruiting efforts. Mizzou’s new Mondo banked track is slated for completion in June 2024. Kiefer USA is heading the team that will perform the track installation. Ideal for both training and competition, Mondo tracks help athletes train at a high level and perform their best when it counts the most. Read the entire news release here.
