This winter’s World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meetings series saw Mondo athletics tracks once again deliver stellar performances every time.
Four of the eight 2026 Gold meetings could boast of having athletes go through their paces on a Mondo athletics track.
At these four meetings, held across an intense three-week period in February, the quartet produced the following superlatives.
The highlight of these meetings was, of course, Keely Hodgkinson’s phenomenal world 800m short track record of 1:54.87 Mondo’s variable hydraulic banked track at the Arena Stade Couvert de Liévin.
The Briton circled four laps of the Mondo athletics track in northern France to take almost a second off a world record that had stood for nearly 24 years.
Many of Hodgkinson’s greatest performances have come on Mondo athletics tracks including her victories at the 2024 Olympic Games and European Athletics Championships as well as, earlier in her stunning career, winning gold at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Torun.
She will return to Torun and the city’s Kujawsko-Pomorska Arena Torun, which has a Sportflex Super X K39 athletics track, in a few weeks’ time for this year’s World Athletics Indoor Championships, which will be held between 20-22 March.
In the six seasons since the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meetings were inaugurated in 2021, more than two thirds of them – 30 out of the 44 meetings – have taken place on Mondo athletics tracks.
Mondo athletics tracks have consistently delivered year-after-year better results than all other athletics track suppliers combined.
Other indoor events held in February also saw outstanding performances on Mondo athletics tracks: many national championships were held on Mondo raised facilities and the company's sports flooring, including:
Recently, Swedish pole vault champion Mondo Duplantis cleared 6.06 m in Clermont-Ferrand on February 22nd. Two days later, in the Slovakian town of Banská Bystrica, Czech Jan Štefela cleared 2.32 m at the renowned indoor high jump meet held annually in the city.
