WORLD MASTER GAMES 2018

The city of Malaga, Spain, is getting transformed with the World Masters Games (4-16 September), which are taking place on two newly renovated MONDO tracks. The main stadium "Ciudad de Málaga" has been recently equipped with a blue Sportflex Super X 720 track; Mondo's previous red surface, which has accumulated 12 years of intense use, has been replaced by more than 7,700 square meters of Sporflex Super X 720 flooring in dark blue. The installation has a nine-lane ring, double straight, competition zones and jump corridors. In addition to the replacement of the surface, all the equipment was also renewed: even a new launching cage has been placed. The renewal of the runway, promoted by the Municipality of Malaga, was agreed with the Royal Spanish Athletics Federation. RFEA itself approved the track last week, certifying that the facility meets the legal requirements for track practice - maintaining its IAAF Class II certificate. Those who have spent several months enjoying a new sports floor are the athletes of the Campus Teatinos of the University of Malaga (UMA), one of the World Masters competition sites. The sports facility boasts a new 400 meters SPORTFLEX SUPER X track with 8 lanes and a double straight line. The previous surface was MONDO and had been installed in 2003.
