The world’s best padel is ready to “push beyond its limits” in Barcelona: the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals begin

“Push beyond limits”, the philosophy that inspires Mondo’s spirit, spreads to the top eight men’s and eight women’s pairs on the circuit. With glory at stake, the last and most eagerly awaited tournament of the year begins today, once again featuring Premier Supercourt X3 turf as the star of the show.

The history books of padel are about to write a defining chapter in the understanding of what this sport truly represents. Competitiveness, teamwork, self-improvement, sportsmanship and glory will come to life in the 16 pairs (eight men’s and eight women’s) that from today until 14 December will compete in Barcelona at the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals.
Each pair — among the best in the world — is unique, yet all share the same goal: to push beyond their own limits in the most important event of the year. This spirit mirrors the daily philosophy of Mondo. One of the most memorable quotes from Ferruccio Stroppiana, the company’s founder in Alba (Italy) more than 75 years ago, is: “I have lived with the ambition to always push beyond my own limits.” A legacy still alive in every action of the company.

Just as “Push beyond limits” defines Mondo’s philosophy, it also shapes its sports solutions, such as Premier Supercourt X3, the artificial turf on which the Finals will be played. Its outstanding technical and sports performance, specifically engineered by Mondo for padel courts, has made it the official turf of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel 2025 circuit.

Characteristics of the synthetic turf on which the Finals will be played

Developed through months of intensive research in Mondo’s laboratories, Premier Supercourt X3 is the surface on which the new kings and queens of padel will be crowned.
It offers players complete confidence and security in their movements, significantly reducing injury risks. Its high-grip capacity improves impact absorption, stability, traction and balance during play.
All filaments are texturized, which allows them to “hold” the sand inside the turf, preventing irregular distribution or accumulation on the surface. In addition, the turf provides maximum comfort and an outstanding visual appearance.
These features have established Premier Supercourt X3 as the official turf for the Qatar Airways Premier Padel circuit and for the International Padel Federation (FIP).

The stage of the grand final: Palau Sant Jordi

For the second consecutive year, the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Finals will take place at Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi, with capacity for more than 16,000 spectators.
The centre court features a large eight-sided LED cube equipped with Mondo Smart Systems technology, along with a full control room with production equipment, mixers and communication matrices.

In addition to supplying the artificial turf for the padel courts, Mondo will have an active presence at the event, including its own dedicated stand.

This year's Finals will once again feature extremely high-level competition, with intensity present from the very first rallies.
The event will run over four days, combining group stages and knockout rounds, with matches scheduled during both daytime and evening sessions.
The top two pairs in each group will advance to the semifinals, which will be played as direct elimination matches. The grand final will be held on Sunday.
