Mondo obtains ISCC PLUS Certification for Synthetic Turf Surfaces

Our company recently obtained ISCC PLUS (International Sustainability and Carbon Certification) certification to produce synthetic turf surfaces. This certification represents an important international standard, rapidly spreading in the sector, which certifies the use of sustainable materials and promotes a production chain with low environmental impact. ISCC PLUS certification is particularly relevant for the production of synthetic sports turf, as it allows the use of organic, bio-circular and circular raw materials, confirming our commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and using recycled materials.

International Sustainability and Carbon Certification: What is it?

This standard establishes a series of requirements for our artificial turf production at different levels:

• As regards raw materials, in addition to the usual strict controls, it is necessary to verify compliance with sustainability criteria by our suppliers, as well as verification, through the sustainability declaration, that the materials received are in compliance with the accreditation.
• As regards the production process, rigorous control of the processes is required, ensuring traceability throughout all phases of the process.

By subjecting the system to external verification, we can offer a certified and transparent product, helping to establish new sustainability standards in the sports sector.

ISCC PLUS and FIFA

FIFA has included this certification in the new regulations: artificial turf systems certified in accordance with the FIFA Quality Program and produced with yarn with recycled content must be declared by the licensee in the database using the ISCC PLUS sustainability declaration form.
