Mondo Chosen for new Banked Track at JDL Fast Track
JDL Fast Track, an indoor track and field facility in North Carolina, has once again chosen
Mondo for its track. The venue will install a new Mondo
permanent banked track with Mondo’s newest track surface,
Mondotrack EI, which was developed for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Mondotrack EI was designed to enhance athletic performance while preventing injuries. With elliptic geometric shapes, the new bottom layer, allows the track to react smoothly and dynamically to every step, jump, or throw, improving shock absorption and energy return.
Installation of the custom-designed 200-meter track with 11-degree banking will begin in April. The project is slated to be completed before the 2025–2026 indoor track season starts in November.
GEO Surfaces, based in Mooresville, North Carolina, will install the track surface.
Located in Winston-Salem, JDL Fast Track has been a key destination for indoor track and field in the Southeast since its opening in 2012. As the only dedicated indoor track and field facility in North Carolina, it serves both high school and college athletes.
The new Mondo banked track at JDL Fast Track will be the first–and only–one of its kind in the state, which means athletes will no longer have to leave North Carolina to run on a state-of-the-art banked track.
JDL Fast Track’s current track surface is Mondo’s Mondotrack FTX, which was the official track surface of the 2012 London Olympic Games.
