Qatar Major Premier Padel: Doha is the capital

For the fourth consecutive year, the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Qatar hosts the first Major of the season. Through April 19, the world’s best players will compete on Mondo’s Premier Supercourt X3 turf court.

Doha, padel, the biggest stars in the world and the first major event of the season: this combination has already entered the collective imagination of padel fans thanks to the Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel, one of the most important competitions of the Qatar Airways Premier Padel Tour. The Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex will host the Major until April 19, which will be played on the Premier Supercourt X3 padel court.

Some of the main protagonists of the competition, including Arturo Coello, Agustín Tapia, Ariana Sánchez, Gemma Triya, Delfina Brea, Paula Josemaría, Alejandro Galán and Federico Chingotto, already predict that it will be a historic event.

The Ooredoo Qatar Major Premier Padel has been held continuously in Doha since 2022 and its importance is part of the history of the Premier Padel competition itself, as it was the first official tournament to be held. This connection has allowed this city to establish itself as one of the most important padel capitals at an international level. This championship reaffirms Qatar's commitment to high-level sport and its ability to host world-class competitions. The participation of the best pairs of players in the world positions the tournament as a global showcase for padel, increasing its visibility and prestige in new markets.

In addition to the sporting spectacle, the tournament has a strong social and economic impact at a local level and reinforces the image and international reach of Qatar as a global sports hub, making the Ooredoo Qatar Major an unmissable event for both padel enthusiasts and professionals.

The matches began last Friday with the qualifying round, also held at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, in which 24 male pairs and 16 female pairs participated.

The first Major of the Premier Padel circuit

Qatar is the first stop of the four Majors that will be played in the current season of the Premier Padel circuit. We will have to wait until June to attend the next one, which will be held in a unique setting: the Foro Italico in Rome. The Paris Major will be held at the Stade Roland Garros in September, while the season finale will be held in November in Acapulco, Mexico, closing the calendar until the Premier Padel finals in December in Barcelona.

Premier Supercourt X3: the surface for your padel court

The importance of the event required the best padel court in the world: Mondo, official supplier of synthetic turf for the Premier Padel circuit, has therefore provided Premier Supercourt X3 turf court for the event. This padel surface, designed by Mondo specifically for this sport, offers excellent athletic and technical performance and guarantees greater friction control, uniform bounce across the entire court and an extraordinary aesthetic appearance.

All Premier Supercourt X3 filaments are textured, which means they trap the sand on the court between them, preventing it from being distributed unevenly across the surface or from accumulating during play. These properties are complemented by maximum comfort and safety, as well as a spectacular aesthetic appearance. With Premier Supercourt X3, players feel a sense of total safety and confidence in their movements, while also reducing the risk of injury. The level of grip also significantly improves shock absorption, stability, traction and balance during play.

The speed of play offered by this Mondo turf is confirmed by its classification in the ITF category 5, the highest, thus confirming its status as a fast court.
