For several weeks now, residents of Soto del Real, a municipality located on the southern area of the Sierra de Guadarrama in the province of Madrid, have been enjoying the renovated Polideportivo Municipal sports hall, which recently inaugurated its new Vinylsport M sports flooring. The renovation provides users with a playing surface in optimal condition, distinguished by its technical and athletic performance, resistance, durability, and energy absorption.
The sports flooring installed, Vinylsport M, is ideal for facilities like the one in Soto del Real, as it offers stability, safety, and reduces the risk of abrasion, combining athletic performance with user safety. Thanks to its versatility, this flooring is suitable for multiple sports. The entire playing area is wood-colored, except for part of the basketball court, which is a darker shade.
The flooring solution chosen by the Madrid community for this hall is the version combined with the waterproofing and shock-absorbing membrane from the Everlay® range; the proposed flooring system offers complete insulation from rising damp—significantly extending the product's lifespan—and allows the flooring system to be installed without the need for gluing to the subfloor.
Vinylsport M and Everlay® are available in various thicknesses, with different shock absorption values, for a complete range of solutions for categories P1, P2, and P3 of the EN14904 standard.
Before installing the new Mondo flooring, repairs were made to the subfloor, and the new sports flooring was installed on top.
The versatility of Vinylsport M flooring, of which 1,005 square meters were installed at the Soto del Real sports hall, allows for the practice of multiple sports on the same surface. The gymnasium features two basketball courts, two mini-basketball courts, a five-a-side football and handball court, two volleyball courts, and three badminton courts.
Among the main users of these facilities for training and competitions are schools and teams such as Club Piratas Soto Basket, which has teams in various categories. The hall also serves as an occasional venue for climbing, archery, and gymnastics teams and schools in various disciplines.
